Living Springs Program

Promoting safe and hygienic conditions for healthy living

What is Living Springs Program?

Millions worldwide do not have clean water to drink, and billions do not have a safe place to go to the bathroom.

According to the CDC, diseases like cholera, diarrhea, and typhoid fever cause millions of illnesses and deaths, yet they can be prevented with better WASH practices.

Global Data Highlight for WASH
  • 2.2 billion people live without safe drinking water.
  • Over 1.5 billion people lack access to essential sanitation services, such as private toilets or latrines.
  • 2 billion lacked a basic hand washing facility, including 653 million with no hand washing facility.
  • 462 million children who did not have access to handwashing facilities at schools in 2023.
  • Worldwide, 1.4 million deaths per year are attributed to diseases spread through unsafe water, poor sanitation, and lack of hygiene.

What is WASH?

WASH stands for water, sanitation, and hygiene. As a sector, WASH helps millions of communities access water, sanitation, and hygiene services.

The WASH program meets the public needs of billions of people without sustainable access to water and sanitation services. In contrast, the burden of collecting water, borne chiefly by women, is reduced. This leads to better health and educational outcomes in healthcare centers and schools.

Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH)

To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life.” Rev 21: 6

“Those who have had a bath need only to wash their feet; their whole body is clean. And you are clean, though not every one of you.
